One
of the great contemporary colorists of our time, Hallam’s
enthusiasm for his art is evident in his vivid, windswept seascapes
and timeless, sun-dappled village scenes. Born in Chesterfield,
England, his extraordinary artistic talent earned him a six-year
scholarship to London University. In the early 1960’s, after
service in the military, Kerry worked as a commercial artist in
London. His first visit to the Mediterranean with its brilliant
landscapes overwhelmed him by its contrast to the bleak, gray
coal-mining town of his youth. Hallam was so taken with the vibrant
beauty of the region that his professional course was set.
